Vaccine Protocol Exemption

Niagara University's COVID-19 protocols have been developed in accordance with the instructions issued by the OCMOH, and in compliance with s 2. (2.1) of Schedule 1 and Schedule 4 of O. Reg. 364/20: Rules for Areas at Step 3 and at the Roadmap Exit Step under the Reopening Ontario (A Flexible Response to COVID-19 Act, 2020). 

In accordance with the Mandate issued by the Ministry of Colleges and Universities, Niagara University requires its employees, staff, contractors, volunteers, and students who attend campus to provide proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 or to have applied for and received from the university either a medical or religious exemption. Please be advised that individuals with approved exemptions will still be required to provide proof of negative tests prior to their coming to campus. Details of the process for proof of testing will be provided to individuals who receive exemptions.  

Current Members of Niagara University

Members of the Niagara University community are able to file for a medical or religious exemption from the university’s vaccination protocol for the fall 2022 semester. 

Newly Hired Employees

For newly hired employees only, the forms to request an exemption on religious or medical grounds may be found below.  Newly hired employees may submit their request to the Office of Human Resources through the email address included on the form by the required deadline communicated at the point of hire for review and consideration.

New Students and Current BPS Students

All new students entering Niagara University for the fall 2022 semester may request a medical or religious exemption from the university’s vaccination protocol for the fall 2022 semester. Exemption forms are available using the links below and must be submitted prior to the commencement of the fall semester.  For BPS students, please note that exemptions are for university classes only and do not extend to placements that are a requirement of your program.

Masking Requirement

Please note that any member of the campus community regardless of vaccination status must continue health and safety protocols, which includes wearing a mask while on campus.
