- Our cleaning provider, Arelli Cleaning, offers exceptional skill and expertise in cleaning solutions. Their Enhanced Cleaning and Disinfecting Protocol was developed specifically in response to the COVID-19 pandemic with a goal of providing an exceptionally pristine and healthy environment that mitigates the risk of infection. The two-step process includes both cleaning and disinfection.
- To provide the university community additional assurance of a healthy work environment, cleaning supplies, such as disinfecting wipes, will be made available throughout the campus for use, as desired, in work spaces and on office equipment.
Enhancements to Cleaning Procedures
Arelli crew members follow industry standard guidelines for performing cleaning services and special instructions when provided by our clients. Below are the enhancements Arelli crew members will take into consideration when performing their services. The account manager is responsible to coordinate any extended service with the client and crew members.
Determining What Needs to be Cleaned & Disinfected and When
If the area hasn’t been occupied for more than seven days, normal routine cleaning would apply as the SARS-CoV-2 virus has not been shown to survive on surfaces beyond this time.
Beyond this, frequently touched “Hard and Non-Porous Surfaces” like Metal, Glass, Wood, or Plastic” surfaces would need routine cleaning and disinfection. These surfaces will include:
- All Door Knobs
- light switches
- other routinely touched surfaces
Selecting and Handling Disinfectants
Arelli has partnered with ECOLAB to ensure all crew members are using a Health Canada approved cleaner and disinfectant. As of the date of this policy, the Neutral Disinfectant Cleaner 14543 is the benchmark for performance. This chemical allows cleaning, disinfecting, and deodourizing of surfaces in one step.
Keeping in line with Public Health guidelines
Arelli follows Public Health Ontario guidelines and local bylaws and publications to ensure compliance.
